Laundry Prices in Abu Dhabi: What You Pay For and How to Keep Costs Down

Laundry prices in Abu Dhabi depend on the service (wash and fold, dry cleaning or pressing), the item and fabric, how fast you need it back, and whether pickup is charged. At Grand Laundry pickup and delivery are free, carpet cleaning starts from AED 11 per metre, curtains from AED 7 per metre and duvets from AED 20, and other items are quoted when we see them.

The four things that decide the price

Two orders that look the same in a laundry bag can cost very different amounts. Almost every price you see in Abu Dhabi comes down to four things.

1. The service

Wash and fold is the everyday option: clothes, towels and bedding are washed, dried and folded. Dry cleaning uses solvent and hand finishing, so it costs more per piece. Ironing and pressing on its own sits in between. Choosing the right service for each item is the single biggest way to control your bill, and our guide on wash and fold or dry cleaning helps you sort a mixed bag.

2. The item and the fabric

A cotton shirt and a beaded evening dress are both "one piece", but the work is not the same. Silk, wool, embellishment, linings and large items such as duvets and curtains all take more time and care.

3. Speed

Standard turnaround is the best value. If you need same-day service, ask when you book and the team will confirm what is possible for your items.

4. Pickup and delivery

Some laundries add a collection fee or set a minimum order before delivery becomes free. Always ask. At Grand Laundry pickup and delivery are free anywhere in Abu Dhabi, so the price you are quoted is the price of the cleaning.

Our published starting prices

These are the starting prices currently shown on our service pages:

• Carpet cleaning: from AED 11 per metre
• Curtain cleaning: from AED 7 per metre
• Duvet and bedding cleaning: from AED 20 per duvet
• Shoe and sneaker cleaning: from AED 22.50 per pair (with the current 25% offer)

For dry cleaning, wash and fold and pressing, the price depends on what you send. The quickest way to know is to send a photo on WhatsApp to 055 220 3340. You get a clear answer before anything is collected.

Why we do not publish one "price per kg"

You will see per-kilo prices advertised around the city. They can be good value for plain everyday washing, but they hide the difference between a bag of gym towels and a bag of work shirts that need pressing. Ask any laundry exactly what a per-kilo price includes: folding, ironing, stain treatment and delivery are often extra.

Seven ways to pay less for laundry in Abu Dhabi

1. Send everyday cotton to wash and fold, not dry cleaning.
2. Book one pickup for several services. Carpets, duvets and clothes can all go in the same collection.
3. Treat stains early. A fresh stain is cheaper and easier to remove than one that has been through a hot dryer at home.
4. Plan ahead so you do not need express turnaround.
5. Clean bulky items seasonally. Duvets and curtains usually need a deep clean a few times a year, not monthly. Our guide on how often to wash duvets and bedding gives a realistic schedule.
6. Watch for offers. This month we have 25% off sneakers and wedding gowns, with duvets at AED 20 and blankets at AED 25.
7. Look after delicate pieces between cleans. Airing an abaya or kandura and storing it properly means fewer trips to the cleaner. See caring for kanduras and abayas.
