What dry cleaning actually does
The name is a little misleading. Dry cleaning is not dry: the garment goes into a machine with a liquid solvent instead of water and detergent. The solvent lifts body oils, perfume and most food marks without making natural fibres swell, which is why wool keeps its shape, silk keeps its sheen and a lined jacket does not pucker.
After cleaning, every piece is steam finished and pressed. For many customers that finishing is the part they notice most: a suit comes back with sharp lapels and an abaya hangs straight, without the shine you get from a home iron.
Which items should go for dry cleaning?

- Abayas with embroidery, crystals or chiffon layers

Most people in Abu Dhabi ask for faster turnaround at the same moments: a business trip, a wedding, a meeting the next morning. When you book, tell us what you need and by when. We confirm the turnaround for your items before we collect, so you are not left guessing.
Two things make express work smoothly:
- Book early in the day. We are open every day from 8 AM to 11 PM, and an early pickup gives the team time to clean, finish and check the piece properly.
- Point out stains at pickup. A stain we know about is treated before cleaning. A stain we discover after the heat of pressing is much harder to move.
Curtains: dry clean or wash?
Curtains are the largest piece of fabric in most homes, and in Abu Dhabi they collect the fine sand and dust that air conditioning moves around a room. Lined curtains, blackout curtains and heavy fabrics such as velvet are usually dry cleaned so the lining and face fabric do not shrink at different rates. Light sheers can often be washed gently.
